With Spedeworth's increasing promotion of Bangers, this year's Figure-of-Eight World Final was a much grander affair, the usual support formula was dispensed with leaving an all Banger meeting with over 80 cars appearing, including the customary selection of American Tanks, a hearse, plus a surprising addition to the D/D, The Control Car.
Four heats, Consolation, World Final a Destruction Derby which produced some fine action which involved all the cars on the track.
Drivers from The Coventry Avengers, Surrey Street Squad and other parts of the country competed for the Championship which was won by 732 Mark Bryant.
